Training reinforcement & learning transfer
The session ends.
The learning
shouldn’t.
Help people use what they learn at work. Turn your next learning session into a clear action, supported practice and evidence of application.
No signup required. Editable templates + an Excel cohort tracker.
Illustrative practice plan / feedback training
From an idea
to a real conversation.
Describe one specific observation, explain its effect, and ask for a colleague’s perspective.
The next project milestone review.
Rehearse the opening with a manager.
Close the follow-through gap
Attendance is a start.
Application is the point.
The workshop went well. Participants understood the ideas. But when they return to work, what will they do differently—and who will help them try?
Training reinforcement supports what happens after a session. Learning transfer is the application of knowledge and skills to work. Connect both with a practical plan for action, support and review.
A simple place to begin
One session. One workplace action.
A plan for what happens next.
Start with one cohort. Build the follow-through around the opportunities people actually have.
Make it observable.
Choose one action a colleague could see or hear. Translate the learning into something specific.
Find the real moment.
Name the conversation, task or decision where the participant can put that action to work.
Give managers a role.
Agree what time, permission, rehearsal or feedback will help people make an attempt.
Learn from the attempt.
Review what happened and what should change. Record a lack of opportunity separately from a missed attempt.
Your free starting point
The Learning-to-Practice Kit.
A practical set of materials for facilitators, L&D leads and managers. Use it with your existing documents, spreadsheet and messaging tools.
A downloadable resource, not a software trial. No automated reminders or participant accounts.
- Session planner, participant action plan and facilitator closing script
- Workplace behaviour examples and a manager briefing
- Follow-up messages to adapt and send
- Excel cohort tracker with a fictional worked example
- Evidence review and reporting template
Make the review useful
Look for evidence
of use.
A completed course or a positive rating tells you something different from whether a skill was applied at work.
Keep participant reports, manager observations and work samples distinct. An application example does not, by itself, prove that training caused a business result.
- Was there an opportunity?Separate a missing practice opportunity from a missed attempt.
- What did the person try?Ask for a specific action and a brief, anonymised example.
- What support helped?Identify useful feedback, time, permission or rehearsal.
- What needs to change?Use the review to decide the next action and support.
Keep moving
Pick the next step
your programme needs.
Plan the action
Turn learning into a commitment.
Use an editable action plan to connect the session to a real workplace opportunity.
Coordinate the follow-up
Make responsibility clear.
Agree who follows up, what managers do, and when to review what happened.
Ask better questions
Review workplace application.
Choose Level 3 questions that explore examples, barriers and support.
A few useful answers
Before you begin.
Can we start after the training has happened?
Yes. Choose the next real opportunity to practise and agree on an action and review date. Mark any recalled starting point as retrospective.
Does a 30-day cycle guarantee behaviour change?
No. The kit’s schedule is a planning guide for testing practice and support. Lasting change may take longer and depends on the work, opportunities and conditions.
Is the free kit a GWork software trial?
No. It is a downloadable resource you can use independently. Contact GWork to explore the product workflow and discuss options for your programme.
Does this replace our LMS?
The kit supports what happens after a learning session. Keep using your existing learning system for the functions you need; discuss any product integration requirements with us.
Build follow-through into
your next programme.
Bring one learning session and the workplace action you want to support. We’ll discuss your requirements, show the relevant GWork workflow and establish whether there’s a fit.
